Our legal team provides expert advice on interpreting and developing legislation. This includes key areas such as the Work Health and Safety Act 2011, the Safety Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988, the Seafarers Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1992, and other relevant laws.
We also provide corporate and commercial support, as well as governance and operational assistance. As a Legal Advisor, you will play a vital role in supporting the development of client-focused legal advice and providing support to Comcare staff on legal and policy matters.
The role involves managing risk effectively and working in line with APS Values, Legal Services Directions, and internal procedures.
Mandatory Qualifications:
 * Admission as a legal practitioner in an Australian court is essential.
 * A current Practising Certificate or ability to obtain one within three months is required.
Eligibility and Conditions:
 * A character clearance (Australian Criminal History Check) is necessary.
 * An Employee Health Declaration must be completed.
 * A six-month probationary period applies for new engagements.
