Role Description
FareShare North East is looking to recruit a Food Supply & Logistics Manager, a new role focusing on continued and future collaborations with the food industry in the North East, supporting the development and growth of food volumes in the region, championing our work. The postholder will work closely with the teams in our two Hubs in Newcastle & Middlesbrough to ensure they have sufficient supplies of surplus food flowing through to the community groups they support, contributing to the development and future sustainability of an organisation working to redistribute surplus food out to thousands of individuals and families who are facing economic hardship.
Responsibilities
* Bring account management skills to grow the supply base and ensure rewarding and sustainable relationships with partner organisations.
* Manage existing and new business relationships.
* Optimise fleet management logistics and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, food safety and health & safety policies.
* Collaborate with the development team at FareShare North East and the food team at FareShare UK to maximise the potential for regional food sourcing.
* Work with food redistribution teams to ensure effective stock management and manage short‑dated food efficiently.
* Coordinate with the Director of Operations on UK‑wide food partner accounts and delivery of national initiatives where appropriate.
* Contribute to a culture of togetherness, inclusivity, respect, and passion within the organisation.
Qualifications
* Experience in account management and building new business relationships.
* Knowledge of fleet management and logistics optimisation.
* Understanding of food safety regulations and health & safety policies.
* Experience working with volunteers and community groups.
* Strong organisational and communication skills.
* Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, values‑led organisation.
