Board and Governance Advisor

Reporting to the Secretary of Property Trusts, you will be responsible for managing the administration of the Board and its committees. You will provide specialist advice to Board and Committee members on relevant changes to legislative and other governance requirements, prepare all board and committee related papers, minutes, files, and agendas, develop, review, and amend Board and Committee administration policies and procedures on a regular basis, manage protected disclosures, and develop a suite of Governance documents.
A major component of this role is liaising/advising key senior-level stakeholders. Exceptional attention to detail, professionalism, strict confidentiality at all times, and the ability to develop relationships and communicate effectively at all levels are essential.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide specialist advice to Board and Committee members on the impact of relevant changes to legislative and other governance requirements
* Prepare, maintain, collate, and present all board and committee-related papers, minutes, files, and agendas
* Develop, review, and amend Board and Committee administration policies and procedures on a regular basis to ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
* Manage protected disclosures under direction from the Secretary to the Property Trusts
* Develop and maintain a suite of Governance documents
The ideal candidate will have strong governance experience with a working knowledge of ASIC and ACNC regulations, Australian Charity and Company Law in terms of governance and Risk, excellent written, document drafting, research, and analytical ability, a high level of diplomacy, tact, and discretion, integrity, strong ethics, accountability, and influencing skills, and advanced MS Office skills.
