Mining Engineer – Open Pit | FIFO 8/6 | Tier 1 Contractor | Pilbara
About the role
Are you a skilled Mining Engineer with a passion for delivering and executing mine plans in large-scale open pit operations? We’re currently seeking a motivated skilled to join a Tier 1 mining contractor on a 7-month contract in the Pilbara region, working on an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth, Busselton, or Broome.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage daily to weekly mine plans aligned with quarterly development milestones.
- Lead drill & blast scheduling, ensuring safe and efficient execution.
- Perform ad hoc mine design work as required, including ramps, dumps, and pit modifications.
- Collaborate with operations and technical teams to ensure plans are practical and achievable.
- Use Vulcan mine design software to produce accurate and timely designs and schedules.
About You
- Proven experience in daily planning and scheduling within large open pit environments.
- Strong background in drill & blast engineering and execution.
- Proficient in Vulcan mine design software (essential).
- Able to work autonomously and deliver high-quality mine plans under tight timelines.
- Manual driver’s license (preferred).
- Comfortable with FIFO lifestyle and working in remote environments.
