**ABOUT THE BRANCH & SECTION**
Ministerial and Parliamentary Services (MaPS) is a Division within the Department of Finance delivering services to, and for government. MaPS administers the employment framework for staff of parliamentarians and provides a number of Human Resource (HR) support services.
The HR Frameworks Branch within MaPS is responsible for providing HR services including payroll, work health and safety, work place rehabilitation, and education and training. The Branch is also responsible for policy development and advice in relation to the employment framework covering MOP(S) Act employees.
The HR Service Delivery Team is responsible for providing payroll, help desk and system administrative services to MOP(S) Act employees and is committed to improving service standards through innovation, systems and process enhancements.
**ABOUT THE** OPPORTUNITY**
We have several vacant positions at various levels in the HR Service Delivery Team within the Ministerial and Parliamentary Services Division. Team members will be required to undertake payroll related tasks, administrative processes and provide advice and support to approximately 2,000 staff of parliamentarians throughout their employment cycle.
The team is primarily based in Canberra and has approximately 30 members split into sub-teams responsible for providing payroll, help desk and systems administrative services to staff employed under the Members of Parliament (Staff) Act 1984 (MOP(S) Act).
As the **APS 6 Team Leader **on the help desk you are required to undertake tasks of high complexity and work with limited direction. You are expected to lead a small team distributing and monitoring workloads, answering complex queries and communicating with influence on a range of issues.
Your duties will include:
- Responding both verbally and in writing to requests for advice in relation to pay and conditions of service for MOP(S) Act employees. This includes drafting standard and non-standard complex correspondence and overseeing other administrative processes.
- Managing and distributing the workload of your team.
- Providing training to staff on conditions of employment including updates to relevant databases and systems.
- Assisting other teams as required.
- Other duties as directed to ensure the outcomes of the Service Delivery Team are met.
