Unlock the Potential of Children with Developmental and Learning Disorders
The Occupational Therapist plays a pivotal role in supporting Aboriginal children aged 0-18 and their families to optimise their child's development. Working within a multidisciplinary team, they provide seamless assessment, treatment, management, and support to access the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) for children with developmental and learning disorders including Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
Key Responsibilities:
* Supporting Aboriginal children and their families to navigate the NDIS process
* Providing individualised assessments and interventions to promote child development
* Collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care
* Facilitating access to community resources and services
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A degree in Occupational Therapy or a related field
* Experience working with children with developmental and learning disorders
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
