Amentum has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Accountant to join their team in Alice Springs NT.
PURPOSE AND SCOPE
The Accountant is responsible for performing multiple accounting functions such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, auditing accounts, tax preparation, and general accounting. Responsibility for preparation and issuance of reports and statistics reflecting financial results. Administer approved accounting practices to ensure that financial and operating reports accurately reflect the condition of the business and provide reliable information necessary to control operations.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities/Duties
Responsible for the preparation and issuance of financial statements, tax reports and other internal and external financial reports as required. Coordinate with Division and/or Corporate personnel
Interface with Government, corporate and private auditors on a regular basis
Develop estimates to support internal price analysis requirements
Prepare source documents for data entry, code accounts appropriately and perform data entry function. Prepare journal entries for posting
Accumulate and tabulate control statistics for accounts receivable, payable, payroll, and general accounting
Maintain various master files and listings including periodic transaction statistics
Operate in a manner that assures compliance with generally accepted accounting principles; International Financial Reporting Standards; Accounting Standards; Federal Acquisition Regulations; Federal, State and Local laws; and Company/Divisions Policies and Procedures.
Operate computer and peripheral equipment using standard software, Perform all required clerical duties necessary in area of assignment
Organize, file and maintain records in an up-to-date condition
Any other reasonable duties as requested
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Essential
1. Working knowledge of Microsoft applications (, Excel, Word, Access, etc.)
2. Bachelor’s degree in accounting
3. Chartered Accountant
Desirable
4. Experience using RSMeans

6. 5 years’ experience or equivalent

WORK ENVIRONMENT, PHYSICAL DEMANDS, AND MENTAL DEMANDS
The position is desk based and sedentary in nature, the ability to lift items up to 5kgs may be required occasionally.
Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 10kgs, kneeling, standing and walking, routinely sitting and constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, and must be able to work under deadlines.
EHS REQUIREMENT
