This is a temporary full-time position, to commence from 26 May 2025 until 19 September 2025 unless otherwise determined. About the School Home Hill State School, established in 1913, serves 126 Prep to Year 6 students in the Burdekin Shire. Our school provides engaging, real-world learning and offers a range of arts, cultural, and sports programs. Our families are encouraged to be active participants in school life.
Home Hill is a rural sugar-farming town south of the Burdekin River, 10 minutes from Ayr and 100 km from Townsville, northern Australia's largest city. Townsville is a key regional hub, known for its defence base, top-tier services, and relaxed tropical lifestyle.
About the Role As the Principal, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Lead the school community in developing and committing to a shared vision focused on quality learning outcomes for all students. Uphold values-based, ethical and moral leadership. Embed socially just practices in daily school life. Set high standards for student and staff performance. Engage in lifelong learning and professional development. Form partnerships with parents, agencies, community groups and stakeholders. Be future-oriented and strategic. Understand policies and legislation impacting the school.
