How this role supports our work
The Senior Manager – Enterprise Program Management Office (EPMO) and Process Improvement plays a critical role in driving strategy execution and implementation by guiding project planning and execution with outcomes-focussed allocation of resources in alignment with strategic objectives. The role also oversees the efficient and effective governance over programs and projects and the delivery of the re-design and ongoing continuous improvement of business processes.
The role is responsible for the establishment and operation of Australian Red Cross EPMO and requires a blend of strategic thinking, operational expertise, and strong leadership to drive project excellence and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
What you will do day to day

- Developing, implementing and maintaining fit-for-purpose Project Governance Frameworks, to ensure the strategic alignment and financial viability of both operational and non-operational programs and significant enterprise-level projects.
- Ensure standardised oversight across a portfolio of projects and work with project sponsors and teams to ensure that decisions, solutions, and implementations are critically assessed using a strategic and operationally aligned risk-based approach.
- Establish, maintain and continuously improve EPMO governance, process, procedures and frameworks.
- Work with project sponsors, project leads and project managers to identify, mitigate, and manage operational, financial, and reputational risks associated with projects.
- Facilitate building organisational capability in the areas of project management, change management and business process management.
- Coach, mentor and develop team members to achieve both financial and non-financial outcomes.

What you will bring

- Comprehensive technical knowledge and expertise in project management and overseeing multiple complex projects
- Substantial understanding of workflow systems and BPMN Standards
- Resilience to manage complex relationships, influence, and challenge effectively and constructively
- Experience with project planning tools, including Microsoft Project
- Proficient in working with JIRA and Confluence
- Substantial knowledge and understanding of waterfall and agile project management methodologies
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, including facilitation and collaboration across diverse stakeholders, with an ability to constructively work through issues to achieve solutions
