About The Role
Whitehaven Coal is seeking an experienced
Inventory Analyst
, reporting to the Inventory Manager, to join our dynamic Procurement & Inventory Team. You will play a key part in ensuring a seamless and economical flow of materials by leveraging the SAP ERP system.
What You'll Do
Analyse inventory performance including stock levels, ageing, consumption trends, and stock-turn metrics.
Monitor slow-moving, excess and obsolete stock and recommend reduction strategies.
Validate MRP outputs and support planning accuracy across sites.
Conduct master data checks on lead times, MRP types, min/max levels and classifications.
Investigate stockouts, incorrect movements and planning variances.
Support Procurement and Purchasing teams with analytics for PR/PO prioritisation, approvals and supplier performance.
Develop weekly and monthly reports on stock availability, PR/PO ageing, supplier delays and inventory value.
Create dashboards and insights for Procurement, Inventory, Warehouse and Maintenance teams.
Provide analytics for strategic sourcing, demand trends and working capital impacts.
Analyse SAP data (MD04, MD07, ME5A, MB52, MB51, ME2N, Z-reports) to identify risks and discrepancies.
Assist with SAP improvements, testing, data validation and catalogue integrity.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support a collaborative team culture.
What You'll Bring
Experience in inventory analysis, supply chain analytics or materials management.
Strong SAP S/4HANA skills (MM/PM/MRP) including core planning and reporting transactions.
High analytical capability with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Advanced Excel and Power BI skills.
Sound understanding of MRP logic, replenishment methods and inventory optimisation.
Experience supporting Procurement and Purchasing through data-driven workflow monitoring.
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment with a proactive, continuous-improvement mindset.
