About the position
This position will work closely with and report to the Coordinator Media and Communications to manage Council's digital communication platforms. The position will focus on improving communications with the community, facilitating online communications and monitoring emerging technologies and trends across social media to ensure that the community has timely access to Council information.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, implement and maintain digital and social media strategies that will improve community consultation and introduce interactive communication opportunities in consultation with key stakeholders
* Assist in the development and implementation of a content calendar and regular analytics reports to develop Council's social media output
* Plan, generate and publish high quality engaging and targeted social media content across Council social media platforms and websites
* Monitor and respond to enquiries, including urgent or critical issues that may arise outside of business hours
* Assist Coordinator Media and Communications in the preparation and presentation of all Council communications, including with the media as required
* Monitor emerging technologies and trends in the development of social media
* Demonstrated knowledge of Content Management Systems for web content upload and maintenance

About you
* Tertiary qualifications (Degree or Equivalent) in media, communications, public relations or relevant discipline or demonstrated equivalent experience.
* Demonstrated experience in digital communications and social media, including the production of digital newsletters and information
* Demonstrated experience in managing Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other relevant digital platforms
* Excellent written and verbal communications
* Collaborative approach to working with stakeholders
* Demonstrated experience in updating web content through Content Management Systems
What we offer
* Temporary full time, 35 hours per week, Term Contract for a period of up until December 2026
* Hourly Rate from $39.2554 to $43.2471 per hour (depending on qualifications, skills and experience) plus 12% superannuation
