Job Description

The Center Director position is a pivotal role in leading SIT Australia's programs, ensuring academic quality, operations, and student services align with SIT's mission. The successful candidate will oversee curriculum design, teach one course per semester, and guide student research projects and internships.

Additionally, the Center Director will provide academic advising, cross-cultural guidance, and student well-being support in collaboration with SIT's Office of Student Health, Safety, and Well-Being.

Other key responsibilities include managing center operations, finances, and local partnerships, as well as recruiting, supervising, and supporting faculty and staff.

Effective communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills are essential for this role, which requires regular interaction with students, faculty, and local stakeholders.

Key Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess a terminal degree in environmental science, marine biology, or a related field, as well as a minimum 3 years of experience in academic program management or experiential education.

Candidates should also demonstrate fluency in English, a commitment to inclusive education, and knowledge of Australia and Oceania ecosystems.

They must also have legal right to work and reside in Australia and be able to remain in-country for the duration of the program.
