Job Title: Maintenance Officer
As a vital member of our maintenance team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the upkeep and presentation of our properties are of the highest standard.
* Fitting, testing, repairing, and replacing fixtures and fittings, including lightbulbs, windows, doors, and handrails is essential for maintaining safety and efficiency.
* Performing basic plumbing maintenance and repairs on taps, basins, and toilets requires attention to detail and technical expertise.
* Carpentry skills, including hanging and replacing doors, operating power tools, and performing minor welds to fabricate or repair fixtures are necessary for completing tasks efficiently.
* Checking safety equipment such as fire hoses, fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, and alarms ensures the property remains safe for residents and staff.
* Reporting requirements for significant repairs to management allows for timely resolution of issues.
* Clearing gutters and common areas of rubbish and debris maintains the aesthetic appeal of the property.
* Applying and repairing paint and plaster enhances the visual appearance of the property.
* Changing locks on doors and windows ensures secure entry and exit points.
Requirements:
* Relevant experience or qualifications in a maintenance/handyman role are highly desirable.
* Exposure to hotel environments can be beneficial for this position.
* A high level of attention to detail and organisational skills are required.
* The ability to work independently and effectively manage time is essential.
* Full availability to work a 7-day rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays, with shift times between 7 am and 11 pm.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills when interacting with guests and colleagues.
* A valid Work Health Physical Assessment/Drug and Alcohol test prior to employment is mandatory.
