Our client is the largest integrated construction materials company in Australia, producing and selling a broad range of construction materials, including quarry products, cement, concrete, asphalt and recycled materials. Employing circa 9,100 employees and contractors nationally, their extensive footprint includes some 357 operating sites nationally.
Located in North Ryde, today they are seeking to appoint a National Asset Manager. This is a national functional leadership role within the Mobile Assets Team, responsible for the standardisation of systems, processes and procedures connected to optimising the end-to-end life cycle of Heavy Vehicles (HV) across all of our clients business units.
***Your key duties and responsibilities will include**:
**_ People_**
- Functional leader responsible for visible leadership delivering a culture of Zero Harm. This includes promoting a strong safety and sustainability culture that aligns to our clients initiatives and programs
- Collaborates with National Mobile Assets team, and provides input towards development of standardised processes, systems, and capabilities
- Drive engagement with and development of the mobile asset leaders across the operating business (Mobile Asset Managers, Logistic Managers, Area Managers, Fleet supervisors, Maintenance Managers etc)
- Drive the implementation and consistent use of standardised processes across the business.
**_ Project Management_**
- 30% of your time will be spent steering projects, managing multiple projects concurrently
- Leading project teams between 4-8 people
- $40m capex management per annum
**_ Environment_**
- Develop and implement strategies to drive sustainable reductions in the CO2 emissions across HV fleets.
**_ Markets_**
- National lead for the execution of the Heavy Vehicle program, balancing the best utilisation of company fleet against contracted fleet. This includes developing and executing regional plans to change company / 3rd party fleet structures.
- In conjunction with the Asset and Disposal Lead, enhance key stakeholder relationships for the sourcing of their future HV fleets.
**_ Assets_**
- Responsible to ascertain impactful improvements that can be driven in procurement, asset maintenance and optimisation of the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) through whole of life asset management.
- Responsible for development and execution of a rolling 24 month HV CAPEX investment plan with a view to delivering a 5 year plan
- Establish and maintain the optimal specifications for each operating HV fleet within the organisation, with a view to balancing safety, sustainability and the Total cost of Ownership.
- Support the development and where necessary the deployment of systems related to the operation of HV.
- Develops standardised processes and systems in line with optimisation of end to end lifecycle of all mobile assets
**_ Financials (outcomes)_**
- Works across all business units, through the Mobile Asset Managers, to ensure maximised asset utilization with a view to reduce operating costs and optimised return on invested capital, both of which will lead to enhanced margin outcomes.
- Responsible to support / inform the development of Heavy Vehicle elements of operational budgets.
- Responsible for anticipating and driving actions / activities to ensure targets are met.
***What you will bring to this role**:
- 10+ years of experience in asset management and integrated logistic roles.
- Experience managing complex network of assets to deliver optimised operating performance and service outcomes.
- Experience implementing a regional / national standardisation across integrated operations inclusive of company assets and 3rd party contractors.
- Demonstrated experience delivering improved performance outcomes through engagement of people and process across product or functional lines.
- Proven analytical skills & commercial acumen - maximising on asset utilisation and proactively identifying efficiency opportunities
- Demonstrated understanding of operational complexity re: heavy vehicle/industrial services or logistics type operations
- Experience as a National Asset Manager, proactively supporting the sustainability of best in class multi-site Asset Management practices, to maximise productivity
- Strong mechanical and technical aptitude, working in machine-based operations.
- Strong Safety focus with a preventative/proactive approach and the ability to manage any OH&S issues to resolution.
- A preference to create frameworks and identify best in class standardisation practices to maximise on asset lifecycle
