Our client is an engineering company delivering Renewable Energy infrastructure projects across the APAC region providing comprehensive design, engineering, equipment supply, and project management services to the energy sector.
Job Purpose
The Senior Substation Engineer (Primary Electrical) will be responsible for the production and management of design and engineering deliverables for High Voltage T&D projects, including feasibility studies, tender and detailed designs, design reviews, and verifications.
This role will also oversee design management, engineering governance, quality assurance, and technical mentoring of the Substation Design Team, ensuring adherence to industry standards and the client's quality objectives.
Qualifications and Skills
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Power Systems Engineering from a recognized institution.
* Membership with relevant national or international professional engineering bodies.
* Strong understanding of applicable national and international engineering standards, codes, and practices.
* Solid knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and Safety in Design (SiD) requirements.
* Excellent technical report writing and presentation skills.
* Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering disciplines.
Experience
* 15+ years of design and engineering experience in delivering Substation Primary System Design for utility substations or large-scale Renewable Energy and T&D infrastructure projects.
* Proven expertise in Primary System Design Modelling, including:
* Short circuit force calculations
* EMF studies
* Insulation coordination
* Earth grid modelling and design
* Lighting system modelling and design
* Demonstrated experience delivering EHV Substation Primary Design.
