At Wellways, we believe every young person deserves safety, stability and a chance to thrive. Our Youth Workers play a vital role in delivering high-quality, trauma-informed care for young people in out of home care, aligned with the Queensland Department of Child Safety standards.
We’re looking for an experienced, passionate, resilient and values-driven individual to join our Residential Youth Care Program, supporting young people with high and complex needs in a safe, nurturing environment.
In this role, you will:
Provide trauma-informed, culturally safe care that reflects our Child Safety Practice PrinciplesSupport young people in developing life skills, routines and pathways for healingWork collaboratively with families, communities and external stakeholdersMaintain clear documentation and uphold Wellways’ high standards of careEngage in reflective practice and professional development
What you’ll bring:
A relevant qualification (or currently working towards one)Ability to build trust and positive relationships with young peopleFirst Aid and Drivers LicenceAbility to do sleepovers and shift work - this is an essential requirement.Police clearance - not less than 12 months oldBlue Card and NDIS Workers Screening CheckNDIS Worker Orientation Module CertificateCompleted Hope and Healing Framework Foundation Training - this will be supplied by Wellways if needed.
