We're seeking an accomplished operational leader to manage the capability, safety and performance of one or more professional operations within a large-scale services contract. The employer will be disclosed during later stages of the process.
About the role
You'll be responsible for ensuring operational readiness, compliance and leadership excellence across multi-shift teams in a high-performance emergency response environment. This role suits someone who has led people and managed capability in professional firefighting, emergency management or related high-risk operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage operations, ensuring people, fleet and equipment readiness at all times;
* Oversee training, qualifications and compliance with all safety and emergency standards;
* Manage workforce planning, succession and performance development;
* Monitor budgets, drive efficiency and support continuous improvement initiatives;
* Maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors and key stakeholders;
* Promote a culture of safety, accountability and operational excellence.
You will bring
* Proven background in emergency services, with leadership in a 24/7 operational setting;
* Strong people management experience, including training, engagement and workforce planning;
* Experience working within the defence industry would be highly regarded;
* Practical understanding of incident response, risk management and compliance;
* Commercial or contract management exposure within operational environments;
* Confident communicator with sound judgement and stakeholder engagement ability.
Qualifications
* Relevant emergency services, safety or management qualifications (e.g. Cert IV/Diploma in Public Safety, Firefighting Management, WHS, or similar);
* Current driver's licence;
* Ability to work flexibly and travel occasionally.
