About this Position
The Treatment Plant Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring and maintaining Council's water and wastewater treatment facilities and fixed infrastructure to ensure the safe, efficient and compliant delivery of essential services.

What we trust you to deliver
* Operate and maintain water and wastewater analytical equipment to conduct routine laboratory and field tests in accordance with regulatory and operational requirements
* Operate, monitor and maintain water treatment plant and sewerage treatment plant systems and associated network assets in compliance with relevant legislation, environmental standards and procedures.
* Perform regular sampling and testing to meet compliance obligations for regulatory bodies and internal standards. Accurately record and report data to the relevant internal and external stakeholders
* Conduct routine cleaning, servicing and maintenance of fixed plant and equipment associated with sewer and water infrastructure
* Provide general assistance to mechanical and electrical trades personnel during maintenance and repair activities
What you will need to be successful
* Cert II in Water Industry Operations or a relevant qualification or experience in a similar field
* Current Class C Drivers Licence
* General Construction Induction Card (White Card)
* The ability to participate in a rotating roster including weekend work (one weekend in four) and public holidays as required
Hours and Salary
Full Time: 76 hours per fortnight
Salary: From $1,301.50 to $1,496.73 per week + superannuation
Immunisation Program
Council has an immunisation program to provide employees with vaccinations against known health risks associated with their respective duties and to identify any exposure to products that may affect an employee's health, fitness and wellbeing. This position has been identified as a risk to the employee and as such the successful applicant/s will be required to participate in the immunisation program and it is the applicant's responsibility to have undertaken relevant immunisation/s prior to commencement with Council.
