Our client, a large complex organisation within the higher education sector, are currently seeking a Project Manager for their student load & offers modelling project Phase 2.
This project will:
* Define the project scope, requirements, and data modelling needs, aligning them with strategic planning objectives like the Australian Universities Accord and international student caps.
* Identify and finalise new use cases and configuration needs to optimise revenue, resource allocation, and compliance.
* Where applicable introduce identified functionality and development of dashboards and reports, ensuring they remain relevant and fit-for-purpose to track enrolment and financial targets
Key Skills/Attributes
* Extensive Project Management experience with a proven track record leading and managing IT projects to successful completion.
* Proven ability to deliver projects on scope, schedule, and budget, with strong financial management skills including cost tracking and forecasting.
* Experience delivering planning and forecasting solutions (e.g., Anaplan or similar platforms).
* Background in business intelligence and reporting projects (e.g., Power BI or equivalent).
* Strong understanding of connected planning concepts and data-driven decision frameworks.
* Ability to oversee model-building projects and analytics/reporting initiatives from design through delivery. Therefore, knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance in enterprise environments.
* Excellent stakeholder engagement and vendor management capabilities.
* Familiarity with data integration and lifecycle management
* Understanding of cloud-based platforms and enterprise data architecture principles.
* Strong governance and documentation skills, with experience producing project artifacts (e.g., PID, RAID logs, stage plans) ideally within a PRINCE2 framework or similar structured methodology.
* Highly developed stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging executive leadership and operational teams, including mixes of full-time and contractor-based resources.
* Exposure to complex technological environments with multiple integration points, customisations, and technological dependencies.
* Experience working with large and multifaceted corporate systems and overseeing cross-skilled teams with a mix of business and technical members.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present at approval boards and steering committees.
* Ability to clearly convey ideas, goals, and updates to stakeholders and team members. Includes written, verbal, and presentation skills.
* Highly organised, with proven ability to balance competing priorities and demands while maintaining delivery quality i.e. adaptability and attention to detail.
* Proficiency in agile project management tools such as JIRA.
* Handling agreements with vendors, clients, and internal teams while resolving conflicts diplomatically. Delegating tasks, coaching team members, and fostering collaboration.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables
* Deliver complex projects end-to-end, ensuring scope, time, and budget compliance.
* Define objectives, scope, and governance artefacts aligned to organizational standards.
* Engage stakeholders across business and technical teams to ensure adoption and value realisation.
* Manage risk, change, and dependencies with clear reporting and escalation.
* Coordinate internal resources and external vendors, including contracts and SOWs.
Additional Criteria
* Higher education experience is desired, but not mandatory for this role but given the subject matter expertise of the project it would be beneficial to the project if the candidate has education experience.
