Job Description:
The Mechanical Engineering Technician will join our busy Maintenance Team and report directly to the Maintenance Supervisor.
This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week with one of the best conditions of employment in the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conducts tests of mechanical systems, collects and analyzes data, and assembles and installs mechanical assemblies in support of Mechanical Engineers and Engineering Technologists
2. Ensures maximum equipment uptime by providing effective and efficient mechanical preventative and breakdown maintenance
3. Engages in fabrication, installation, and repair of mechanical machines, instruments, or appliances
4. Ensures that all work is carried out to company requirements and conforms to all relevant regulations
5. Utilizes fault-finding to troubleshoot and rectify problems
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Qualified Mechanical Engineering Technician with previous experience in a fast-paced industrial manufacturing environment
* Previous experience within the meat industry advantageous
* Sound knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics, as well as basic knowledge of electrics and welding skills
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Demonstrated continuous improvement approach
* Ability to support a broad variety of mechanical work
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Ability to communicate at all levels
* Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team environment
* Ability to work various shifts
