About The Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Nurse to join our nine-bed Intensive Care Unit. Our ICU cares for a diverse range of patients, including post‑surgical cases, emergency admissions, deteriorating ward patients, obstetric emergencies, and those requiring dialysis. In this role, you will provide clinical leadership and support within a dynamic and challenging environment. Acting as a key decision‑maker, you will coordinate patient flow, ensure safe and efficient care delivery, and step into a leadership capacity in the absence of the Nurse Unit Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse looking to take the next step in their career by combining hands‑on care with leadership and mentorship responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert clinical guidance and act as a resource for nursing staff.
- Lead by example to ensure the highest standards of patient care and safety.
- Mentor and support junior team members to foster professional development.
- Assist in developing and delivering staff training and education programs.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits.
- Monitor and manage key performance indicators, including staffing and workload allocation.
- Apply critical thinking and analytical skills to manage deteriorating patients and system challenges effectively.
- Integrate new technologies and evidence‑based practices into patient care.
About You
You are a proactive and compassionate nurse who leads with empathy, professionalism, and confidence. You thrive in a fast‑paced environment, demonstrate strong clinical judgment, and are committed to excellence in patient care.
What You Will Bring
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Postgraduate qualification in Intensive Care Nursing.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in an acute care or intensive care setting.
- Proven leadership, mentoring, and decision‑making skills.
- Robust communication, interpersonal, and organisational abilities.
- Commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
Desirable
- Previous experience in a Clinical Nurse or leadership role within ICU.
- Demonstrated ability to manage clinical priorities and team coordination.
