This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated nurse to contribute to the success of a well‐established and well‐loved hospital. We are seeking a skilled Surgical Nurse with anaesthesia skills to complete our specialist surgery team – and most importantly, make a meaningful difference in the lives of animals and their families. This is a Part‐time role. We provide the highest standard of nursing and patient care and we are seeking a qualified veterinary nurse to join our friendly, dynamic surgical team.
Responsibilities
* Assist in pre‐operative and post‐operative care
* Surgery Preparation & Theatre Nursing
* Provide expert nursing care during complex surgical procedures, including anaesthesia and monitoring.
* Carry out diagnostic tests
* Collaborate with the surgical team, and all departments, to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow
* Administer medications and follow established protocols
* Maintain accurate and up‐to‐date patient records
* Provide education and support to patients and their families
* Willingness to help the other department nurses when needed, which is integral to maintaining a team atmosphere
About You
* Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent qualification
* Minimum of 3 years of experience in veterinary nursing
* Strong knowledge of surgical nursing techniques and procedures
* Proficient anaesthesia skills with the ability to monitor patients safely and effectively
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work effectively in a fast‐paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
