This job is the second in command to the General Manager in a large full-service, luxury hotel with an extensive range of facilities and services, high-volume catering and a large number of VIP and special key guests.
A little taste of your day-to-day:
Every day is different at IHG, but you'll mostly be:
- Working as your General Manager's trusted second-in-command - also occasionally acting up in their absence
- Planning and assigning work, directing everyday activity to enable your team to deliver exceptional guest experiences
- Developing your team and improving their performance through coaching and feedback. Create performance and development goals for colleagues - recognise good performance
- Promoting teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other shifts and departmental management
- Building relationships with guests and external contacts such as current and potential clients, government officials, travel industry representatives, suppliers and local communities
- Making sure the hotel delivers the highest level of guest satisfaction through superb guest services and amenities
- Acting as a public relations representative to raise awareness of hotel and brand in local community
- Developing and implementing action plans to be environmentally conscious by taking steps to reduce the hotel's carbon footprint
- Assisting your General Manager to develop, implement and monitor financial and operating plans to safeguard guest satisfaction and promote profitability
- Performing other duties as assigned. May also serve as manager on duty
What We need from you:
- Bachelor's degree / higher education qualification / equivalent in Hotel Administration, Business Administration
- Three years' senior leadership experience in a high-level operations role or prior general manager experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must speak fluent English. Other languages are preferred
