Whatever field of work we’re in, we always leave it all out there.How You Can Play a PartThe purpose of the Student Support Officer is to provide mentoring and support services to our First Nations students in years 7-12 through the successful delivery of our Beyond the Broncos Program. This program focuses on engagement, retention and academic progress throughProviding culturally safe mentoring and strengths-based support to participantsWorking collaboratively with key stakeholders including school staff, parents, carers, indigenous community, NGOs and government agenciesUpdating and maintaining student profiles and recordsProviding students with career pathway support including; mentoring, work experience, industry engagement, info sessions, self-awareness etc.Implementing, monitoring and reviewing attendance, behaviour, effort, retention and attainment strategiesOther ad hoc tasks as requiredThis role is part-time working 5 days per week.To be consideredTo be considered for this opportunity you will havePrevious experience working with First Nations young people and an understanding of local community groupsA relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in Education, Youth or Community ServiceStrong communication and interpersonal skillsComprehensive administration and reporting skillsA strong sense of respect for confidentiality involving participants and team memberNote: All applicants must hold a current Drivers License, Blue Card and/or WWCC to be considered.
