The Job


You must be willing to live residentially in Port Hedland to apply.

We're looking for a highly motivated and experienced Business Support Services Lead to lead PPF's corporate, HR, WHS and compliance functions. This is a pivotal role where you'll be the operational heartbeat of our business, creating and owning processes, coordinating resources, training leaders, and ensuring compliance across the organisation.

Your mission? To deliver corporate excellence and embed practical frameworks that scale with our growth plans. You'll empower leaders to remove barriers so frontline teams can deliver exceptional service every day. Empowerment will also need to be supported by accountability and consistency

If you're not already an HR or WHS expert, that's okay, what matters is a genuine desire to develop in these areas as this commitment to develop in those critical areas is non-negotiable.

Key responsibilities include:

* Provide leadership to employees and external consultants to drive company initiatives.
* Oversee the full employee lifecycle from recruitment and onboarding through to performance management, development, and offboarding.
* Champion training and development: maintain registers, schedule compliance training, and support career pathways.
* Design and implement policies, SWIs, and systems; keep documentation current and audit ready.
* Ensure compliance through our systems: licences, checks, inductions, certifications, and audit preparation.
* Plan and deliver events, inductions, toolbox talks, and other engagement and recognition programs.
* Champion the embedding of new systems including our HRIS, LMS and POS systems; effectively establishing them to ensure the production of accurate reports for informed decision making.
* Coordinate vendor and client onboarding, verifying compliance and site requirements. Identifying opportunities to partner with providers or streamline customer onboarding requirements to ensure value-add opportunities are maximised.
* Manage external consultants (legal, IR, WHS, environmental, financial) for specialist advice however understanding that the operational day-to-day decision making will sit with you.

Our operations run 7 days a week. While we support your right to disconnect, occasional after-hours availability may be required for urgent matters.

To be successful in the role, you will need to have:

* Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior Administration, HR, Safety or Compliance position.
* Proven success establishing and embedding policies, SWIs and compliance frameworks.
* Experience leading recruitment, onboarding, inductions, performance and training programs.
* Demonstrated ability to manage audit readiness, maintain registers, and produce accurate reporting.
* A natural ability to build strong stakeholder relationships, create internal engagement, demonstrate quality written communication, and a growth-mindset, open to feedback and continuous‑improvement.
* Valid Australian work rights (DAMA sponsorship may be considered once suitability is proven).
* Driver's licence is essential.
* The ability to pass standard pre‑employment checks including Police clearance (or willingness to obtain) .
