Responsibilities
- Lead faculty and differentiate the curriculum, promoting engagement and learning through personalised learning and support plans, and strong literacy, numeracy, and wellbeing programs.
- Foster positive relationships with students, families and outside agencies to develop and implement strategies for individualised support, transition, behaviour and wellbeing of students with additional learning needs.
- Use data and evidence to work with the school executive team on achieving the school’s Strategic Excellence Plan and system targets.
- Demonstrate leadership in managing a dynamic faculty of teaching and non-teaching staff, including providing professional learning to strengthen collaboration, build capacity, and improve student learning.
Qualifications
- Proven ability to lead faculty and differentiation of the curriculum, promoting engagement and learning through personalised learning and support plans, and strong literacy, numeracy, and wellbeing programs.
- Proven capacity and significant experience in fostering positive relationships with students, families and outside agencies to collaborate, develop and implement strategies for individualised support, transition, behaviour and wellbeing of students with additional learning needs.
- Ability to use data and evidence to work with the school executive team on achieving the school’s Strategic Excellence Plan and system targets.
- Demonstrated leadership skills in managing a dynamic faculty of teaching and non-teaching staff, including delivering professional learning to staff that strengthens collaboration, builds capacity, and improves student learning.
General Selection Criteria
- Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
- Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
- Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
- Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
- Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement.
