We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated employment lawyer to join our team. As an employment lawyer, you will be responsible for providing strategic advice on all aspects of workforce management, including employee engagements, contracts, industrial relations, workplace safety, disputes, grievances, and terminations.

About the Role
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of employment law and experience in providing advice on complex legal issues. They will also possess excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
We are looking for someone who is able to think critically and solve problems effectively, with a strong focus on risk management and compliance. The successful candidate will be self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as part of a team.
Responsibilities
* Preparing written advices regarding all employment law related issues and industrial relations matters
* Providing strategic advice regarding employment and industrial relations disputes
* Appearing at conferences before the relevant court or tribunal
* Researching case law and providing legal analysis
* Drafting court documents and settlement agreements
* Engaging barristers and investigators
* Instructing counsel and senior lawyers during court hearings, mediations and conferences
* Corresponding with opposing solicitors and self-represented applicants
* Liaising with witnesses and drafting statements and affidavits
* Where appropriate and necessary, delegating work and providing instructions to paralegals and administrative support
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need to hold a tertiary qualification in Law and possess a current Practising Certificate relevant to the jurisdiction. You will also require 1-2 years post-admission experience (PAE) in Employment Law, ideally within a law firm environment.
You will need to demonstrate critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and the ability to think laterally. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities are essential, as is the ability to excel at building and maintaining trusted relationships with stakeholders.
