We are seeking a HSE Advisor to join our team. The successful candidate will adopt our core HSE values to develop, implement and monitor our Health, Safety, Environment and Rail Safety program.
The responsibilities of the role include:
1. Implementing a safety culture during mobilization and maintenance phases.
2. Assisting in establishing, implementing and monitoring compliance with health, safety, environment and rail safety systems and procedures within the workplace.
3. Supporting the development, reviewing and implementation of health, safety, environment and rail safety management plans.
4. Supporting SQE risk management activities, including working with the maintenance team to develop the Workplace Risk Assessment (WRA) and associated Activity Method Statements (AMS).
5. Supporting the risk transfer process from the D&C Phase to the Maintenance Phase.
6. Providing day-to-day health, safety, environment and rail safety support to internal stakeholders.
7. Analyzing safety problems and recommending solutions to appropriate managers.
8. Conducting routine health, safety, environment and rail safety inspections, monitoring and analysis of work areas.
9. Conducting investigations of site accidents and incidents that may require litigation.
10. Supporting subcontractor engagement processes, including safety requirements within subcontractor agreements.
11. Reviewing subcontractor safety systems and processes, including Task Risk Assessments (TRA).
12. Preparing and maintaining reports and documentation concerning the aspects of the health, safety, environment and rail safety program.
13. Maintaining knowledge of applicable rules and regulations, including government regulations, standards and policies.
14. Maintaining knowledge of health, safety, environment and rail safety policies and procedures to enable the performance of assigned duties in a safe manner.
15. Maintaining professional relationships with site personnel and key internal and external stakeholders to foster the professional image of the organization.
16. Performing all duties in accordance with organizational policies, processes, systems and procedures.
17. Providing strong safety leadership to influence the safety climate and build a positive safety culture.
18. Setting a positive safety example for project team members to follow and work towards.
19. Supporting RIW systems, personnel training, induction and contractor compliance for the project.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A diploma in occupational health and safety or equivalent.
* A Cert IV in environmental management.
* A bachelor's degree in safety, quality, environment, project management or other associated disciplines.
* Safety lead auditor qualification, internal environmental auditor qualification.
* Train track safety awareness.
You will have:
* Construction/maintenance HSE management experience (3+ years).
* Experience in HSE management techniques and tools.
* Quantitative and qualitative risk assessment and monitoring of risk controls and actions involved in delivery and implementation of projects.
* Advanced skills in relevant computer software packages; use of basic functions of word processing, spreadsheet and email software.
* Ability to conduct and interpret audits and reviews.
