About The Role
The Recreation and Waterways Branch creates places, programs, and services that bring communities together and inspire healthier, more active lifestyles. At the heart of this is the Melbourne City Baths (MCB), a City of Melbourne–managed facility offering a diverse range of aquatic and recreation programs for members and the wider community.
As a
Swim Teacher of Infants and Preschoolers
, you'll deliver group lessons for children between the ages of 3.5 – 5 years old within a flexible roster at Melbourne City Baths. You'll be part of a motivated team of Swim Teachers who are passionate about what they do, with the added benefit of free gym membership for those holding a weekly permanent shift.

Deliver engaging group, private, and school swimming lessons in a flexible roster environment at Melbourne City Baths
Contribute to a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all aquatic participants
Support the delivery of high-quality aquatic and recreation experiences that encourage active participation
Work collaboratively with a motivated team of Swim Teachers to achieve program goals

About You
You are comfortable with facilitating engaging and supportive swimming lessons for people of all ages and abilities.
What your experience might look like - Key Selection Criteria
Strong understanding of health and safety in aquatic and recreation environments
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage people from diverse backgrounds
Capacity to work independently, problem-solve and contribute to team goals
Experience in setting and achieving outcomes in aquatic education programs and private lessons
To Be Eligible For This Role, You Must Hold
Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety qualification
Teacher of Infants and Preschoolers qualification
Current CPR qualification
Current Victorian Employee Working with Children Check (WWCC)
Weekend availability to work is also required
