**About the Role**
Seeking an experienced career allied health assistant to join our occupational therapy team.
As an Allied Health Assistant (AHA), you'll play a vital role in supporting allied health professionals to deliver exceptional care across the Central Adelaide Local Health Network (CALHN). Working across diverse settings, including the Royal Adelaide Hospital, and our other CALHN facilities, you'll assist in clinical service delivery to ensure safe, efficient, and professional operations.
The multidisciplinary Allied Health Assistant (AHA) role works under the direction of allied health - occupational therapists and physiotherapists. The role assists with the provision of allied health services, including contributing to patient care by providing administrative and clinical assistance to the team in their day-to-day clinician duties.
Tasks may include:
- Contribution to a safe working environment for patients and staff
- Preparation of assessment and therapy resources as required.
- Implementing a therapy program including hands on clinical care
- Communication of relevant issues relating to patient care to the treating therapist.
Your contribution will directly support improved clinical outcomes and the overall health and wellbeing of our community.
**About you**
We're looking for a dedicated Allied Health Assistant (AHA) to provide essential support to our allied health professionals in delivering high-quality patient care.
To succeed in this role, you should possess exceptional interpersonal skills, a compassionate nature, and a genuine desire to support others. Experience as an allied health assistant would be an advantage, but comprehensive training will be provided to ensure you are well-equipped to excel in your role.
**_ Qualified and Skilled:_** Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance or equivalent.
**_ Supportive and Observant:_** Able to assist patients with flexibility, recognise progress or decline, and act with AHP guidance.
**_ Independent and Reliable:_** Strong time management, initiative, and ability to work independently or within teams.
**_ Ethical and Knowledgeable:_** Familiar with confidentiality, OHSW standards, and skilled in respectful, sensitive communication.
