The Senior Category Manager is a critical, customer-facing leadership role responsible for driving sustainable sales growth and retail productivity across our portfolio of cosmetic brands. This role translates deep market expertise into customer-informed Category Management strategies.
You will work with a team of Category professionals, providing strategic direction and fostering a cohesive approach that maximizes cross-account synergies. This position is pivotal to the ongoing success and strategic development of our Category Management function.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Category Leadership (Drive Retail Excellence)
Strategy Implementation: Lead the development and execution of impactful display and promotional strategies tailored to customer needs.
Performance Monitoring: Actively track, analyse, and report on brand and category performance, identifying opportunities for growth and intervention.
Product Development: Develop comprehensive product briefs by synthesizing in-depth account needs, competitive research, and robust data analysis.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with the Sales team to develop compelling customer presentations and collaborate with the Supply Chain to ensure cost-effective retail execution and optimized planning lines.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience & Education
Tertiary qualification in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
Proven experience in a complex analytical role within the consumer products industry (FMCG experience essential)
Minimum 3-4 years of experience in a complex analytical role within the consumer products industry is required.
Demonstrated success in developing and executing impactful customer and product strategies.
Technical & Analytical Expertise
Deep understanding of Category Strategy principles and best practices with a track record of practical application.
3-5 years of practical application experience in Category Strategy is required.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Suite.
Working knowledge of the financial and operational implications of business decisions.
In-depth knowledge of the competitive landscape, consumer behaviour, and product offerings within the relevant market.
