Reports to: Early Childhood Education Services Manager
Location: BAELC - Geraldton
Employment Status: Full Time (12 months) – FTE 1.0 – 45 hours per week
Salary Range: $108,160 per annum (excluding position costs)
Closing Time: Friday 30th August 2024 at 5pm AWST
About the Position
Bundiyarra Aboriginal Community is seeking a passionate and innovative Centre Director to join their team at the newly funded Bundiyarra Aboriginal Early Learning Centre in Geraldton. The Centre Director will promote local involvement by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations and community members to ensure decisions and planning for cultural and educational integration are consultative and effective. The role involves working closely with staff and management to ensure community engagement and support for enrolled children.

The Centre aims to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and their families through a community-led cultural and educational framework, promoting positive transitions to school and cultural healing.
About Bundiyarra Aboriginal Community
Bundiyarra is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation, Aboriginal led and staffed, serving the Mid-West, Murchison, and Gascoyne regions since 1992. It employs over 27 staff and aims to foster strong community partnerships, cultural connectedness, and community-driven services. The organisation values cultural strength, mutual trust, transparency, and social wellbeing.

Skills and Experience
Essential
* Bachelor's in early childhood education or equivalent experience
* Leadership experience in a childcare setting
* Knowledge of the National Quality Framework and Early Years Learning Framework
* Strong organizational skills
* Current First Aid, CPR, and other certifications, or ability to obtain
* Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
* Understanding of relevant legislation and policies
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365
* Class C Driver's License
Desirable
* Qualifications in community development, governance, social work, or related fields
* Existing stakeholder relationships
* Knowledge of the Collective Impact Approach

* Provide leadership to educators and staff

* Design and implement curriculum programs
* Foster relationships with families and the community
* Manage administrative tasks including budgets and enrolments
* Ensure regulatory compliance and safety standards
* Support community engagement and data management
* Coordinate with community groups and stakeholders
