What you will do as the Senior Project Officer

Reporting to the Director, Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO), the Senior Project Officer will support the development of consistent project management processes, artefacts, and governance mechanisms across the agency. This role goes beyond basic project support, its purpose is to build long-term organisational capability in project planning, delivery, and assurance.

* Support the consistent application of project management standards and contribute to building project delivery maturity across the AER.
* Produce high-quality project artefacts and documentation that support governance, decision-making and organisational clarity.
* Contribute to discrete project management tasks as directed by the Corporate Division.
* Assist with governance and ongoing process documentation relating to AER's TechnologyOne ERP system, including annual regression testing cycles and system administration support.
* Provide oversight and monitoring of AER Library governance, ensuring subscription owners maintain clear, compliant and value for money practices.
* Support continuous improvement of EPMO processes, tools and approaches.
* Demonstrate strong judgement, initiative and adaptability in an evolving organisational environment.

About you

In order to succeed in the role, you will have:

* Experience working within a project environment (direct EPMO/PMO experience is highly regarded, with familiarity in project settings essential).
* Experience producing key project artefacts such as schedules, business cases, risk/issue registers, status reporting, or governance documentation.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to understand complex issues and provide practical, actionable solutions.
* High-level written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to explain complex information clearly and effectively.
* Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to negotiate, influence and resolve competing or sensitive issues.
* Ability to quickly understand new processes, systems and governance arrangements, including TechnologyOne, Atlassian and Microsoft suites.
* Experience working in government, regulatory environments or other complex organisations.
* Experience contributing to change management, procurement or assurance activities.
