Our client is a well-established structural steel operation servicing major commercial and infrastructure projects across QLD. Due to continued growth, they are looking for a trade-experienced steel professional ready to step off the tools and into an operational coordination role.

Responsibilities
This role is ideal for a boilermaker, fabricator, estimator, or steel detailer who understands structural steel and drawings but wants a lighter, more stable role.
You'll be responsible for coordinating steel components as they move through blasting, coating, cranage, transport, and dispatch. Weighbridge experience is not required — full training will be provided. What matters most is your steel knowledge and attention to detail.
* Coordinate incoming and outgoing loads of structural steel
* Check steel components against fabrication drawings, load lists, and job specs
* Assist with weighbridge operations and ticketing (training provided)
* Liaise with truck drivers, crane operators, and production teams
* Ensure accurate QA, compliance, and logistics documentation
* Support load sequencing and material flow
* Identify discrepancies in steel sizes, weights, or dimensions
* Maintain a safe, organised work environment
Your Profile
* Background in structural steel as a:
* Boilermaker / Fabricator
* Steel Estimator
* Steel Draftsman / Detailer
* Ability to read and interpret structural steel drawings
* Strong understanding of steel sections, weights, and fabrication processes
* High attention to detail and strong safety focus
* Good communication and teamwork skills
* Desire to transition into an operations-focused role
Highly Regarded (Not Essential):
* Basic computer skills (Excel, data entry, ticketing systems)
* Exposure to logistics, transport, or weighbridge operations
* Understanding of load distribution and compliance
