The Strategic Planning and Place Making Department takes a strategic approach to long term planning and policy development to shape the growth, urban form, accessibility, and liveability of our city whilst managing natural hazards and protecting and conserving our natural resources, environment, and heritage. The department's plans, programs and initiatives are structured to meet the requirements of the Southeast Queensland Regional Plan and related State legislation, in addition to supporting local demands and needs.
**About our opportunity**
As a Spatial Analyst you will undertake spatial analysis activities, specifically relating to strategic land use planning to meet the needs of the community. You will provide advice and respond to requests relating to spatial analysis to inform decision and ensure project outcomes are achieved.
We will also look to you to
- develop and maintain division's spatial information data and methodology content and governance processes
- undertake spatial analysis services utilising a range of cartographic output, geo-processing and spatial analysis
- research and analysis to develop and implement complex spatial processes
- deliver training of end users in the use of spatial data products
**About you**
Additionally, you will have
- demonstrated technical knowledge in the Esri suite including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online and Portal for ArcGIS
- ability to confidently provide support and deliver training to end users
- good time management, organisational, and communication skills
- proficiency with Python and other programming languages will be highly regarded.
