Key Responsibilities
Responsible for the continuous operation of the Luzon Grid, ensuring power system security and reliability, providing quality power to all connected customers through real‑time control of system voltage and frequency, maintaining load and generation balance in accordance with WESM Rules and the Philippine Grid Code, and restoring power to the Luzon Grid in the event of a system failure or blackout.
* Perform real-time control of system frequency, including the implementation of Real-Time Dispatch schedules and optimal use of ancillary services;
* Manage real-time control of system voltage, involving reactive power adjustment and direct management of SVC, Reactors, and Capacitors; and
* Maintain power system security and reliability by managing power flow within acceptable limits, conducting contingency analysis, and authorizing switching operations.
Requirements
* Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
* Registered Electrical Engineer (REE)
* At least five (5) years of professional experience in power system operations, with knowledge in network protections, SCADA network operation, telecommunications, and plant and substation operation.
* Proficient in network protective relaying, communications, and protection setting
* Knowledgeable in telecommunication protocols and SCADA network functionality
* Has in-depth understanding of the operation and maintenance of power plants, transmission lines, and substation equipment
* Good communication skills
* Strives for the continuous improvement of processes necessary for achieving corporate objectives
