Senior Commercial Litigation Lawyer Job Description
We are seeking an experienced senior commercial litigation lawyer to join our firm. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Australian commercial law and relevant case law, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.
About the Job:
The successful candidate will play a key role in managing and leading complex commercial disputes, providing strategic legal advice to clients, and representing them in court and alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and lead a diverse portfolio of commercial litigation matters from pre-litigation to trial and beyond.
* Provide strategic legal advice to clients on a range of commercial disputes, including contracts, breaches of warranty, shareholder disputes, and insolvency.
* Draft and review pleadings, legal documents, and correspondence.
* Conduct legal research and prepare detailed case summaries and memoranda.
* Represent clients in court, mediations, and arbitrations.
* Supervise and mentor junior lawyers.
* BUILD AND MAINTAIN STRONG RELATIONSHIPS WITH CLIENTS AND COLLEAGUES.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:
* Admission to practice in Australia with a minimum of 5 years experience in commercial litigation.
* A strong understanding of Australian commercial law and relevant case law.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex legal issues clearly and concisely.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
* A high level of professionalism and integrity.
