About us
Biosota Organics is a premium Australian Manuka honey brand exporting to 20+ markets. We're a fast-moving, product-led business with strong traction in e-commerce and travel retail. Our focus now is simple: scale a high-performing website that converts, ranks and is surfaced by AI search engines. We run experiments, analyse behaviour and move quickly and we're looking for someone who can take those insights and implement them directly in Shopify.
The role (what you'll own)
This is not a strategy-only role. You'll be the person who builds, tests and improves our website hands-on — across Shopify UX, conversion rate optimisation, technical SEO and AI-search visibility — turning insights into live changes that drive revenue. The expectation is that UX, SEO and conversion work together, not at the expense of each other.
Key responsibilities
Shopify UX & front-end execution
* Modify Shopify themes/templates (Liquid, sections, blocks) to improve UX and conversion
* Build and refine landing pages, product pages and site structure
* Optimise mobile-first experience, performance and page speed
CRO & experimentation
* Translate funnel insights into live A/B tests and UX changes
* Identify friction across navigation, PDP, cart and checkout — and implement fixes
* Test new approaches to product discovery, bundles, upsells and messaging
Checkout & cart optimisation
* Streamline cart and checkout flows to reduce abandonment
* Implement UI/UX improvements (trust signals, incentives, clarity, speed)
* Configure and optimise tools like cart drawers, bundles and upsell logic
Technical SEO & AEO (AI search optimisation)
* Implement technical SEO improvements directly in Shopify (site structure, internal linking, schema, indexing)
* Build search-first and AI-answerable pages (FAQs, comparison pages, structured content)
* Optimise pages to be picked up by Google, ChatGPT, Perplexity and AI summaries
* Improve crawlability, page hierarchy and metadata at scale
* Implement structured data/schema (FAQ, product, review, article)
Custom coding & app integration
* Implement and customise Shopify apps (Rebuy, reviews, loyalty, quizzes, etc.)
* Write or modify code to improve integration between apps, UI and checkout flows
* Build lightweight custom solutions where off-the-shelf apps fall short
* Ensure performance is maintained while integrating new tools
Build high-converting, high-ranking pages
* Create and refine "answer pages", landing pages and PDPs that both rank and convert
* Improve content structure for clarity, usability and AI discoverability
* Balance SEO, UX and conversion — not one at the expense of the others
Analytics & feedback loop
* Use GA4, heatmaps (Posthog), session recordings and funnel data to guide improvements
* Measure impact of changes and iterate quickly
* Maintain a clear pipeline of experiments and improvements
What success looks like (first 3–6 months)
* Measurable uplift in conversion rate and reduced cart/checkout abandonment
* Improved organic visibility and early traction in AI/search surfaces
* Faster execution cycle from idea → live → iteration
* Stronger product pages and site structure driving both traffic and conversion
Skills & experience we're looking for
Must-have
* Strong hands-on experience with Shopify (themes, Liquid, sections, apps)
* Desire and ability to learn new skills
* Proven ability to implement UX/CRO improvements directly
* Solid understanding of technical SEO (on-site structure, schema, indexing)
* Experience building pages that perform in search and AI-driven discovery
* Comfortable with HTML/CSS and basic JavaScript
* Experience integrating and customising Shopify apps
Nice to have
* Experience with Rebuy, Hotjar, Klaviyo, Optimizely/VWO
* Familiarity with Shopify Plus checkout extensions
* Experience in premium, wellness or FMCG brands
* Exposure to AI tools for content, quizzes or personalisation
Who this role is for
* Someone who enjoys building and shipping, not just planning
* Someone comfortable inside Shopify making changes daily
* Someone who understands how UX, SEO and CRO work together
* Someone who sees a problem and immediately thinks: "I'll fix that now"
Why join us
* Work on a premium Australian brand with global growth ambitions
* High-impact role — your work directly drives revenue and visibility
* Fast-moving environment with real experimentation
* Flexible setup with a focused, capable team
Remuneration
Competitive hourly / contract rate depending on experience + performance incentives
