Purpose of the Role:
The prime focus of the role will be to participate in cost controlling activities to ensure the best utilisation of the project’s resources, both capital and labor.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in engineering management (or equivalent)
2. Bachelor’s degree in commerce (or equivalent)
3. White Card
Experience:
4. 7 years of experience in a similar based role with experience in cost controlling or project estimating on major infrastructure projects, Preferably within a construction environment
5. Experience working on large scale construction projects or other suitable projects works
6. Advance user of Microsoft Excel and STR Vision CPM
Required Competencies:
7. Demonstrated ability to develop sound working relationships with operations management in the delivery of value added management information
8. Excellent communication, organisational and problem solving skills
9. A pro-active approach with the capability to adapt to changing priorities
10. Ability to meet deadlines and put in the time needed to get the job done.
11. Possess strong mathematical and computer skills. Proficiency with all MS Office products (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
12. Effective oral and written communication skills
13. Strong organizational, interpersonal skills.
14. Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies
15. Proficiency in SAP
Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
16. Responsible for the progress, analysis and cost management of the project in compliance with the FGJV agreed budget and resources.
17. Preparation and review of the executive budget twice a year or following a substantive change
18. Analysis of the variance between estimated and actual costs in regard to personnel, inventory and subcontractors on a monthly basis
19. Coordinate and work with the project management team to ensure the expenditures are kept within the project’s budget
20. Reporting to Finance Manager for ‘on purpose’ analysis and forecast
21. Monitoring of the monetary progress of the project
22. Ensure expenditures are captured and recorded properly
23. Conducting Gap Analysis of Cost Control Activities
24. Attends and audits the Project's construction site to ensure cost control procedures are applied
25. Preparing production statistics
26. Preparing the monthly report
27. Establishing cost control procedures
28. Determine the best utilization of resource
