This is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative, multi-award-winning production company as a key part of our Creative Development Team at FINCH.
Where and When?
Full-time maternity leave contract (with potential to extend) 5 days a week in Sydney, Melbourne or Auckland as part FINCH's Creative Development Team, starting in January. Our office in Paddington has all-day parking and is close to Edgecliff Station and the city.
Who are we?
We are FINCH, a film production company that believes in adventure. We work across all facets of the industry, making TV commercials, documentaries, television, film, live experiences, and digital content, always aiming to push the boundaries of conventional storytelling. We have also created three initiatives; 36 Months (changing the minimum age of social media to 16 years), Creatable (addressing equity and access in education) and The Lion's Share (aiding conservation).
FINCH's Creative Department is responsible for creating our industry-leading treatments.
What's the role?
The role involves bringing great ideas to life with great craft. Tasks include leading the creation of treatments by pulling reference, graphic design, and lay-up while drawing on a rigorous and current knowledge of commercials, music videos, film and television. You will also revise treatments according to director/team/agency feedback and ensure all our visual outputs are of the highest standard.
Who are you?
You have a minimum 2 years of experience as a DA/treatment designer at an advertising production company. An interest in visual and written communication, and a love of telling stories on screen. You are also passionate about collaboration, and thrive as part of a team. This is a senior level position so you will have a minimum 2 years experience as an Image Researcher, Treatment Designer & Director's Assistant.
You have excellent attention to detail, urgency in meeting deadlines when under pressure, enjoy working collaboratively as part of a team, but can also work independently with drive. You also have a desire for ongoing growth, are open to giving and receiving feedback, and have great communication skills.
Background:
Must have:
* Australian citizen or permanent resident
* Minimum 2 years of experience as a DA/treatment designer at an advertising production company
* Advanced use of Adobe suite especially InDesign and Photoshop
* Experience working in a Creative Industry such as film production or commercial production
* Knowledge of advertising
* Graphic design skills & experience
* Ability to reference specific images from film, TV and commercials
* Knowledge of film craft techniques
Nice to have:
* Experience generating images and/or video using AI
* Experience working with code-free website platforms
* Completion of a University degree in a relevant course such as media / arts / production / film school
