RF engineers play a crucial role in the design, development, and implementation of radio frequency communication systems for unmanned aircraft systems. This position requires close collaboration with senior engineers to support various projects related to wireless communication technologies.
Responsibilities
* Design and Development:
* Select and specify components such as radios, antennas, and cable assemblies to ensure optimal performance and compliance with industry standards.
* Develop link analysis/link budgets for digital datalinks.
* Testing and Validation:
* Conduct RF testing and measurements to validate system performance against specifications.
* Analyze test data and troubleshoot RF systems to identify and resolve issues.
* Collaboration:
* Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate RF components into larger systems.
* Collaborate with external vendors and partners to source components and ensure compliance with specifications.
* Documentation:
* Prepare technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and reports.
* Maintain accurate records of design changes and testing results.
* Regulatory Compliance:
* Evaluate and ensure that all RF designs comply with relevant regulatory standards and guidelines.
* Project Management:
* Participate in project planning and scheduling to meet deadlines and budget constraints.
* Provide technical support during the project lifecycle, from concept to deployment.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, or a related field.
* Minimum of 2 years of experience in RF engineering, preferably in communications systems.
* Experience with RF simulation and design tools.
* Solid understanding of RF principles, modulation techniques, and wireless communication.
* Proficiency in using RF test equipment (e.g., spectrum analyzers, network analyzers).
