YOUR MISSION
The Junior Accountant - Business Services is responsible to support the overall quality, completion and the on-time delivery of Polyglot Group's Business Solutions & Services to clients as well as assisting senior team members with the on-boarding and implementation of new clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Services Delivery & Team Support:
Support the day‑to‑day delivery of Business Services with a focus on Accounting, Tax Compliance and Corporate Secretarial activities.
Assist senior team members with monthly/quarterly management accounts preparation for multiple clients.
Work efficiently to ensure on‑time and accurate completion of client work and internal tasks.
Accounting & Reporting:
Process accounts receivable, accounts payable, and employee expense reimbursements
Prepare month‑end journals and perform reconciliations (bank, AR, AP, intercompany, prepayments), maintain fixed asset registers, depreciation/amortisation, lease schedules, and accruals including payroll entries.
Prepare standard reporting packs (Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss, Cash Flow) and tailor customised reports for client head offices/CFO
Tax Compliance:
Assist with monthly/quarterly BAS and IAS preparation.
Contribute to the annual TPAR process.
Support preparation of FBT and Corporate Income Tax returns.
Assist with statutory and non‑statutory year‑end accounts.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
Work closely with the Team Leader, other Accountants, internal Finance & Accounting, and the CFO to deliver high‑quality services.
Act as a proactive service partner to internal stakeholders with appropriate sense of urgency.
Continuous Learning & Compliance:
Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of the firm's services, delivery processes, and relevant regulations; attend mandatory training.
Use and master team resources, tools, and systems to work efficiently.
Corporate Secretarial Support:
Support corporate compliance activities, including statutory filings and maintaining accurate company records, as part of service delivery to clients.
POSITION INTERACTIONS & REPORTING
The Junior Accountant reports directly to the Team Leader and collaborates closely with fellow Accountants within the department.
The role requires effective engagement with broader internal stakeholders, including the Finance & Accounting team and the Chief Financial Officer, to support the delivery of high‑quality financial and compliance outcomes.
SKILLS REQUIRED
Education & Credentials:
Bachelor's or above degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
Progress toward a professional qualification such as CA ANZ or CPA Australia (preferred but not mandatory).
Exhibit good English written and verbal communication skills.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills and adaptable to using a variety of accounting software and cloud-based applications. Experience in Xero is an advantage.
Accounting & Technical Knowledge:
Foundational understanding of double‑entry accounting, chart of accounts, and core accounting principles.
Working knowledge of month‑end processes, including journals, accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and reconciliations.
Basic understanding of financial statements, including:
Balance Sheet
Profit & Loss Statement
Cash Flow Statement
Familiarity with tax compliance requirements, such as:
Business Activity Statements (BAS)
Instalment Activity Statements (IAS)
Taxable Payments Annual Report (TPAR)
Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) basics
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including:
VLOOKUP / XLOOKUP
Pivot tables
Basic formulas and data extraction
Experience with cloud‑based accounting systems (e.g., Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks). Xero experience highly regarded.
Ability to learn new financial and reporting tools quickly.
