Hexagon Mining is seeking a Field Technician to join our Hexagon Mining APAC Division in a full-time site-based opportunity for the NSW Region.

Mining
Our mining technologies provide surveying, design, fleet management, production optimisation and collision avoidance capabilities in a single, life‐of‐mine solution that connects people and processes, reduces costs and improves the safety and productivity of mine sites.
The Position
Reporting to the Field Regional Service & Support Manager you will join our Technical Services & Support Division for the APAC region, which spans across multiple countries. We have an office in Newcastle and support mining clients across the NSW region.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure Hexagon Mining technology solutions at client mine sites operate effectively and deliver tangible value to mining operations.
* Provide training, instruction and advice to customers on the effective use and operation of Hexagon Mining technology solutions.
* Repair, install, configure, commission and support electronic, microprocessor‐based systems and radio communications equipment, identifying and resolving issues on site and at HxGN's premises.
* Support site service across a range of roster patterns (M‐F, 7:7, 8:6) and assignment types (FIFO or DIDO). Roll out on the job as required.
About You
We are looking for an experienced Field Technician ready for the next step in their career, supporting multiple clients and working with an industry leader in advanced technology across a broad client base.
Required Qualifications and Skills
* Trade certificate or equivalent in Auto Electrician, Electronics, Industrial Electronics, Instrumentation or Communications.
* Experience in industries such as electronics, radio, television, automotive, mining or similar.
* Prior experience in on‐site installation, system configuration, commissioning, troubleshooting and repair of technology hardware or systems within mobile plant equipment or industrial automotive vehicles.
* Manual car driver's licence.
* Australian working rights: Permanent Resident or Australian Citizen.
* Ability to work independently or within a team‐based environment, building strong interpersonal relations.
* Customer‐centric & solution‐focused approach to problem solving, skilled in agility and adaptability.
* Critical thinking, ability to customise installations where required.
Desirable Qualifications and Skills
* Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and repairing electronic systems, supporting, diagnosing and troubleshooting diverse environments focusing on electronic / electrical repairs.
* Prior exposure to CAS or FMS system installation within mining equipment.
* Prior experience installing hardware equipment in surface mining equipment/heavy industry.
* Basic knowledge of LANs, WANs, working with Linux OS command line interface (desirable).
* Good computing skills (firmware and software loading and management, troubleshooting, administration tasks, and email).
