About The Position:
Located at any of our global office locations, our Electronics Engineer is part of our Product Development team.
The projects you will lead will include costing, development, material selection, design and specification, software development for Firmware applications including testing. In your role you will lead both the product design and the focus around integrating electronic and firmware systems for automotive components.
You will work closely with your fellow Engineering team members, CAD designers, toolmakers, production, sales, and QA. The role will also see you liaising directly with our customer & supply base globally, across both OEM and Aftermarket markets.
Role Responsibilities: Working within the Automotive OEM or After Market sector for design of vehicle components;
* Design and develop automotive electronic systems including ECUs, sensors, actuators, and power electronics
* Develop, test, and maintain embedded firmware (C/C++ or similar) for microcontrollers and automotive processors
* Collaborate with hardware engineers on schematic design, PCB layout reviews, and component selection
* Integrate firmware with hardware and perform bring-up, debugging, and validation
* Perform system-level testing, fault analysis, and root cause investigations
* Prepare technical documentation, test reports, and design specifications
* Support production, field issues, and continuous improvement initiatives
About you:
* Tertiary Engineering qualification – Electrical, Electronics or Mechatronics;
* Experience in mechatronic, electronic or automation engineering;
* Strong understanding of analog and digital electronics
* Proven experience in embedded firmware development for microcontrollers
* Experience in software/ firmware design, simulation and development (preferably using C/C++)
* Familiarity with debugging tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multimeters
* 2-5 years experience in electronics engineering or related field.
* Knowledge of Tool design & GD&T would be an advantage.
