This is a permanent part-time (0.6FTE) position commencing Term 3, 2026. West Busselton Primary School is an Independent Public School that caters for children from Kindergarten to Year 6. Our school has a caring and supportive environment and a Positive Behaviour framework focusing on Being Respectful, Responsible, Caring and Being our Best. We provide a comprehensive education across all learning areas, with high quality teaching and data-informed planning to monitor student performance and teaching impact.

Role Overview

The successful applicant will undertake reception duties, including greeting visitors, answering the telephone and responding to routine enquiries and requests for information in an efficient and friendly manner. The role may include attending to student injuries, applying first aid and administering medication, maintaining school facilities, assets and resources, reporting faults, organising repairs, assisting with stock takes and updating asset and resource registers.

Responsibilities

* Provide effective and accurate general clerical, financial and administrative support, including processing of student enrolments, preparing correspondence and notices in a timely manner.
* Share the role with another school officer who works 4 days a week, collaborating under the guidance and support of the Manager Corporate Services.
* Assist with stock takes, asset management and maintenance of school facilities and resources.
* Contribute to efficient administration and customer service within the school environment.

Qualifications and Experience

* Experience in administrative support with the ability to organise and prioritise tasks effectively.
* Experience in financial processes and procedures, including handling debtors, creditors, reconciliations and/or preparing financial returns.
* Proficiency with computers and a range of software packages, particularly databases, spreadsheets and word processing.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to apply customer service principles in a school setting.
* Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work both unsupervised and in a team environment.

Software Context

Experience with Compass for Schools is advantageous. The school has moved beyond certain Department Systems; familiarity with related administrative software is beneficial.

* obtain a valid Working With Children Check before you start; and
* consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start.
