Empower Independence for First Nations Children
This is a unique opportunity to join our team as an Early Childhood First Nations Community Coordinator. In this role, you will work closely with First Nations children with disabilities and their families to identify the best support options for improved independence, social participation, and quality of life.
The key focus of this position is to build relationships with local community members and service providers to create pathways for inclusion opportunities. You will be responsible for connecting with First Nations families and carers in their communities and home environments.
As an Australian First Nations person, you possess a genuine occupational qualification for this position under the Anti-Discrimination Act section 14D. Additionally, your experience engaging with First Nations people, providing support to families, and understanding developmental milestones for children aged 0-9 years will be valuable assets in this role.
We are seeking someone with a strong understanding of typical childhood development and the impact of disability and developmental delay on a First Nations child and their family. Your ability to promote a culturally safe work environment and connect with local community and mainstream services will also be essential.
In return for your skills and experience, we offer:
* Tertiary qualifications in Early Childhood or Allied Health profession
* A reference from an Aboriginal Organisation, Corporation or Community Elders Group
* Confirmation of Aboriginality with common seal
* Current Driver's Licence - P1 minimum
* Valid Working with Children's Check Clearance – mandatory
* Valid NDIS Worker Screening Check (NDIS WC) or willingness to obtain – mandatory
* Working Rights in Australia for Full-Time Employment
* Successful pre-employment probity check
