About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for a Data Engineering Manager. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for leading a team of data engineers to deliver data solutions that drive strategic business outcomes. You will work closely with stakeholders across the organisation to understand their data requirements and implement innovative solutions.
What you'll be doing
* Lead a team of data engineers to design, develop and implement data pipelines, data models and data platforms
* Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their data needs and requirements
* Translate business requirements into technical solutions and oversee their implementation
* Ensure data quality, security and governance standards are maintained
* Mentor and develop your team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation
* Stay up-to-date with the latest data engineering trends and technologies
* Contribute to the overall data strategy and roadmap for the organisation
What we're looking for
* Well-developed knowledge of the Financial Services industry including market and competitor trends, product, customer segmentation, regulatory issues, compliance and standards etc.
* Strong relationship management and networking skills within Financial Services industry (including relevant industry bodies).
* Strategic leader of customer-facing service organisations, preferably encompassing change management.
* Extensive experience in data engineering, with a strong background in data modelling, data pipelines and data platforms
* Minimum 7-10 years of data engineering experience required
* Proven track record of leading and managing a team of data engineers
* 7+ years of team leadership experience required
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business value
* Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to design and implement scalable and efficient data solutions
* Expertise in a range of data engineering tools and technologies, such as SQL, Python, Spark, Databricks, and cloud-based data platforms
* Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
