Safety Manager - Major Projects

This role is crucial in supporting the development, implementation, monitoring, and administration of safety systems, processes, tools, and site operations.
As a Safety Manager, you will be responsible for developing and refining Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) systems, processes, and tools. You will facilitate the flow of information across departments and organisational boundaries to mitigate safety risks.
You will conduct WHS and contract assurance activities for contractors and internal projects, administer the safety management system and contractor induction system, deliver internal WHS training programs, and participate in project risk management processes.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Tertiary qualification in Health, Safety, and Environment or equivalent work experience.
* Proven experience in construction or port-related fields.
* Strong self-management skills and the ability to plan and organise tasks within prescribed timeframes.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
* Experience in incident investigations and WHS auditing.
* Knowledge of WHS management procedures and processes, especially ISO14001, AS4801, ISO45001, or ISO.
* Familiarity with state environmental, WHS, and workers' compensation legislation.
* Valid driver's licence, flexibility to travel to sites as needed and the ability to acquire and hold an MSIC.
The ideal candidate will have:
