About the Role

We are seeking a Product Application Testing Technician to join our Research & Development team in Bathurst NSW.

This role is ideal for a qualified butcher or experienced meat processing professional who enjoys hands-on work, has a strong eye for detail, and is motivated by learning and continuous improvement.

You will be trained to work alongside our Product Application Technologist, supporting operations within the Product Application & Testing Laboratory (PATL) — often referred to as the "Test Kitchen."

Responsibilities

* Conduct application testing and provide technical support to the Product Development team to support project delivery.
* Independently complete emulsion preparation, sausage filling, primary and secondary cooking for product application testing.
* Test products to defined specifications for Quality and Product Development, providing accurate and timely reports.
* Record observations, results, and statistics during testing, maintaining precise and up-to-date product records.
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders, contributing to open technical discussions and knowledge sharing.
* Participate in product trials at customer facilities as required.
* Clean and maintain equipment to a high standard, ensuring good working condition.
* Follow all health and safety, and HACCP requirements.
* Assist with inventory management and stock control.
* Participate in required training and contribute to the development and improvement of SOPs and work processes.
* Continuously build knowledge of casings, applications, and testing methodologies

About you

* A background in butchery or meat processing.
* Working knowledge of HACCP and food safety systems.
* Confidence working with processing machinery and automated equipment.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to follow documented procedures.
* A reliable, safety-focused, and team-oriented approach.
* Physical capability to perform manual processing tasks.
* A commitment to maintaining clean, well-organised equipment and facilities.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with basic computer proficiency.
* Proven ability to problem-solve efficiently through structured, methodical troubleshooting.
* Willingness and ability to travel when required.
