Work Type: Full-time | Ongoing career development | Supportive Tasmanian team
About Us
State-Wide Earthworks is a proudly Tasmanian-owned civil construction company delivering high-quality infrastructure, roadworks, stormwater, and environmental projects across Southern Tasmania.
We're known for our strong local relationships, practical approach, and the value we place on our people — from our plant operators to our engineers and project managers.
The Opportunity
We're seeking a motivated Graduate Civil Engineer with at least 2 years' experience in civil construction or a similar field to join our growing project team.
In this role, you'll gain hands-on exposure across project planning, site supervision, cost control, quality assurance, and stakeholder coordination — working closely with experienced Managers and Site Supervisors on live projects throughout Southern Tasmania.
What You'll Be Doing
* Assisting Project Managers with planning, budgeting, and scheduling of civil works.
* Supporting on-site supervision, quality inspections, and safety compliance.
* Preparing progress claims, tender documents, and cost forecasts.
* Coordinating with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients.
* Monitoring performance, productivity, and environmental compliance.
* Learning how to manage end-to-end project delivery — from scoping and tender preparation to completion.
About You
We're looking for someone who's ready to roll up their sleeves and get involved.
You'll bring:
* A Bachelor of Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
* 2+ years' experience in civil construction, engineering, or project delivery.
* A practical understanding of project planning, quality systems, and safety standards.
* Strong communication and organisational skills.
* Initiative, attention to detail, and a drive to learn and grow.
* A current driver's licence (and the ability to work on-site across Tasmania).
Why Join Us?
At State-Wide Earthworks, you'll enjoy:
* Mentoring and career development with senior managers.
* Exposure to a diverse range of civil and environmental projects.
* A supportive, family-oriented workplace culture where your ideas are valued.
* Competitive remuneration and flexible working arrangements.
